DISPLAY FOR OPTICAL C-PRINTS WITH WHITE HOUSE (1-2)

Metalwork: Tõnu Narro, Printing: Tuukka Kaila
2018

Display for Optical C-Prints was designed for the solo exhibition Five Volumes that took place at Narva Art Residency. As both a spatial extension of forms seen in the 16 mm films presented in the exhibition, as well as an autonomous ‘drawing in space’ itself, it consequently “hosted” two C-Prints titled White House (1-2) that depicted Pärnu KEK’s housing unit “Golden Home” (Kuldne Kodu) from afar. The composition of the photographs refers to the 1970s – the era in which the “Golden Home” was conceived and when a white house inserted into a landscape was a widely used motif in Estonian printmaking and painting.
