FIVE CONSTRUCTIVIST VIEWS
5 framed C-prints on aluminium composite, each 30×30 cm
2009

Five Constructivist Views depicts Viru Keskus, perhaps the most significant shopping center and one of the key symbols of neoliberal Estonia. By employing political and art historical inversion, the work questioned neoliberal policies in Estonia at a time when the economic recession was at its worst. The compositions that refer to early 20th century avant-garde turn architectural details into abstraction and can thus be seen to question photography's ability to depict social, political and economic disrupt altogether.
