GRID STUDY
photographic installation, gridded partition wall, four black and white transparencies in lightboxes, each 113×113 cm
2016

Grid Study depicts the former Ministry of Finance building in Tallinn that has been photographed at two stages during its demolition, namely one week apart. The two diptychs show temporal discords as the placement of certain parts of the images is not linear in time. Upon entering the space, a gridded partition wall blocks parts of the images depending on the vantage point chosen by the viewer. The wall directs both the viewer's body and sight in space, breaking the notion of the single, correct vantage point.
