photographic installation, gridded partition wall, four black and white inkjet transparencies in lightboxes,
each 113 × 113 cm
The photographs in this installation depict the former Ministry of Finance building in Tallinn, which was photographed at two stages during its demolition, one week apart. The two diptychs show temporal disjunctions as the placement of certain parts of the images is not linear in time. Upon entering the darkened space, a gridded partition wall blocks parts of the images depending on the point of view. The wall directs both the viewers’ body and sight in space, breaking the notion of the single, correct, vantage point.
